Luistro: 1 lang sa 4 impeachment articles ang kailangang mapatunayan para masibak si VP Sara

Isa lamang umano sa apat na Articles of Impeachment ang mapatunayan ay sapat na upang matanggal sa puwesto si Vice President Sara Duterte at madiskuwalipika ito na muling humawak ng posisyon sa gobyerno.
Ayon sa House lead prosecutor na si Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro umaasa ito na pagbobotohan ng Senate impeachment court ang bawat Article bagamat tatapusin muna ang presentasyon ng lahat ng Articles bago ang botohan.
“Actually, the voting must happen per article, but the way I see it, tatapusin muna ang presentation ng apat na articles and then the Senator judges will be asked to vote individually. For example, the first article is confidential funds, on the first article tatawagin sila isa-isa to vote, on the second article, tapos conviction, just one article, ma-convict lang, that should be enough,” sabi ni Luistro.
“Kapag naka-16 votes in one article, that should be enough to convict the impeachable official and to impose upon her the penalty of perpetual disqualification,” dagdag ng lady solon.
Ang Article I ay kaugnay ng umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds na may kabuuang halagang P612.5 milyon sa ilalim ng Office of the Vice President at Department of Education.
Ang Article II naman ay kaugnay ng hindi umano maipaliwanag na yaman ni Duterte at ang hindi nito pagtugma sa kanyang Statement of Assets Liabilities and Net worth (SALN) at ang pananatili ng interes nito sa ilang negosyo kahit na siya ay Bise Presidente na.
Ang Article III ay kaugnay naman ng pagbibigay umano ng pera sa mga opisyal ng Department of Education na may kaugnayan sa procurement process ng ahensya.
At ang Article IV ay kaugnay naman ng umano’y pagbabanta ni Duterte kina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos at dating Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
Inamin naman ni Luistro na mayroong mga naniniwala na dapat hiwalay ang botohan sa pagpapataw ng perpetual disqualification sa Bise Presidente.
“Although I understand during the time of SP Tito Sen, naririnig ko siya during interviews, ang sinasabi niya, parang divided ‘yung school of thought about the perpetual disqualification that there should be a separate voting for perpetual disqualification, but for me, there should be one voting only kasi kaya ka magpe-perpetual disqualification kasi kinonvict mo na,” punto ni Luistro.
Mag-iiba naman umano ang scenario kung sakaling magbitiw si Duterte sa puwesto bago iginawad ng Senate impeachment court ang hatol nito.
“So that’s what we call moot and academic na yung issue ng removal kasi she voluntarily left already the position, and that is why I said, even in spite of resignation, the trial should continue because there’s another penalty which must be imposed, which is perpetual disqualification,” paliwanag ni Luistro.
Ayon sa lady solon tuluy-tuloy ang ginagawang paghahanda ng prosecution panel sa gaganaping paglilitis.
